What is the first step I need to take in order to have Needhams Obedience train my dog?

Do I have to pay for all the training up front or can I pay in payments?

Payment is due at the end of the initial consultation. Payment is due in half at pick up at the end of either training program.

I have more than one dog that I would like trained, do I have to pay full amount for any additional dogs?

 Pricing for additional dogs is dealt with as a case by case basis. However each additional dog will be eligible to be trained for discounted prices.

Do you use “choke chains” ? If so, cant they hurt my dog?

Yes I do use SLIP CHAINS. When used correctly they cause no harm to any dog. Just as anything is if it is used by someone who unaware how to use something it can be harmful. Therefore anyone who says that chains hurt dogs is baseing their views and opinions from results of people who are unaware how to use them, so at no time will your dog be “choked” from the chain. We use the chain to train your dog not to restrain him by letting him/her pull the leash so  tight that it tightens around the neck of your dog.

My dog knows how to sit and other commands but yet still has other issues, do I still need obedience training for my dog?

A dog that is obedience trained is well behaved in all situations and listens to your commands in any and all situations, not just when the dog feels like it. If your dog will only “sit”, “lay down”, “stay” or any other command when you have a treat in your hand, then you need to reassess which one of you is really being trained.

Does my dog have to be trained by Needhams Obedience before I can board my dog?

No. All dogs are eligible for boarding.

Where will my dog stay when being boarded?

All dogs will be kept in their individual kennels in our own home. Each dog will be let out and supervised through out the day as if they were one of our own.

Is food included in the price of Boarding and Training Programs?

Yes. We will provide food through out the training or boarding stay. However we recommend owners to supply food in order to avoid any digestive issues upon the dog returning to the owner. We will go over and explain the diet that we feed our dogs. Which consists of various foods that are natural to the dogs diet. Such as raw and cooked chicken, sardines, turkey, lamb, raw meaty bones, celery, carrots, garlic, cod liver oil, eggs and other ingredients.
